영문 판 성경 읽기

나는 매일 아침에 30 분 동안 씩 영문 판 성경을 읽고 있다. 오래 전에 중고 서점에서 그 책을 사서 그것을 읽지 않고 책장에 간직하고 있었다. 그런데 두 달 전부터 그 책을 읽기 시작했다.
처음에 구약 창세기를 읽기 시작했다. 그리고 큰 어려움 없이 그것을 읽을 수 있었다. 그 이유는 그 책이 쉬운 단어와 문장 구조를 사용하기 때문이다. 지금 나는 창세기 22장을 읽고 있다.
창세기 22장에는 아브라함이 이삭을 하느님에게 제물로 바치기 위하여 모리야로 가는 이야기가 있다. 그 이유는 하느님이 그가 그렇게 하기를 원하시기 때문이다.
이삭은 누구인가? 이삭은 아브라함이 백 살 때 태어난 아브라함의 독자 아들이다. 창세기에는 아브라함이 이삭을 번제물로 바치려는 장면이 다음과 같이 쓰여 있다.
아브라함은 제단을 쌓고 그 위에 나무를 쌓아놓았다. 그는 아들을 묶어서 제단 위 나무 위에 올려놓았다. 그런 다음 그를 죽이기 위해서 칼을 위로 들어올렸다. 그러자 주의 천사가 하늘에서 그를 불렀다. "아브라함아, 아브라함아!"
그가 대답했다. "예, 내가 여기 있습니다."
"아이를 다치게 하거나 아무 짓도 하지 말라."(창세기 22 : 9 ~ 22 : 12)
이런 식으로 이삭은 죽음의 위기에서 극적으로 구출된다. 그리고 하나님의 명령에 순종하였기 때문에, 하나님은 아브라함에게 풍성하게 축복하셨다. 아브라함에게 내린 축복은 또한 이삭에게 내린 축복이기도 하였다.
하나님은 아브라함에게 그의 자손들이 하늘의 별만큼 많을 것이라고 축복하였는데, 그 말은 이삭의 자손이 하늘의 별들만큼 많으리라는 것이나 마찬가지였기 때문이다.
어쨌든, 나는 영어를 배우고 믿음을 깊게 하는 두 가지 목적으로 시작한 성서 읽기가 성과를 내기를 바란다.
Reading the Bible in English Version

I am reading the Bible in English version every morning for a half hour. I bought the book at the secondhand bookstore long ago and kept it in the bookstack without reading.
However I started reading the book from two month ago.
First I began to read Old Testament Genesis. And I was able to read it without big difficulty. The reason is that the book uses easy word and sentence structure. Now I am reading Genesis chapter 22.
In Genesis chapter 22 there is a story that Abraham goes to Moriah to offer Isaac as a sacrifice to God. Because God want for him to do that.
Who is Isaac? Isaac is Abraham's only son who is born when Abraham is a hundred years old. In Genesis the scene that Abraham is about to offer Isaac as a burnt offering is written as follows.
Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. He tied up his son and placed him on the altar, on top of wood. Then he picked up the knife to kill him. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, "Abraham, Abraham!"
He answered, "Yes, here I am."
"Don't hurt the boy or do anything to him" (Genesis 22 : 9 ~ 22 : 12)
In this way, Isaac was dramatically rescued from the crisis of death. And God richly blessed Abraham, Because he obeyed God's commend. The blessing to Abraham was also a blessing to Isaac.
For God blessed Abraham that his descendants would be as many as the stars in the sky, which meant that the sons of Isaac would be as many as the stars in the sky.
Anyhow, I hope that reading the Bible, which started for two purposes to study English and to deepen my faith, will pay off.
